The performance, which took place in Tehran’s iconic Milad Tower on Wednesday night, consisted of several songs and pieces including great duets by Pournazeri, who plays tanbour, and Ray, who plays Flamenco guitar.

Pournazeri announced that such duets, which were warmly welcomed by the audiences, will likely be performed in the next year, too.

Sohrab Pournazeri is an Iranian-Kurdish musician, virtuoso and composer born in 1982 in Kermanshah. He plays Kamancheh and tanbour.

Pournazeri's style is rooted in both Persian classical music as well as folk and sacred musical culture in Iranian Western province of Kermanshah.

He is an incredible virtuoso soloist who not only cheers audiences but also enjoys the beauty of music during live performances.

Antonio Rey is one of the greatest guitarists of the moment and has already received six awards at the most important flamenco competitions. Recently he has recorded with EMI Music his third album, Camino al alma, with guest artists like Diego el Cigala and Miguel Poveda, showing that not only is Antonio a virtuoso, but also an original, inspired and surprising guitarist.

Antonio is part of the show “Flamenco Hoy” by Carlos Saura, which already has had many successful performances. He has also collaborated with many of the greatest of Flamenco, as Estrella Morente, Vicente Amigo, Diego el Cigala, Miguel Poveda, Manuela Carrasco, Farruquito or Rafael Amargo, appearing in festivals and venues such as the New York City Centre, International Jazz Festival of Montreal, Madrid Jazz Festival, Monterrey Flamenco Festival, Moscow Performing Arts Center, Nimes Flamenco Festival, Mont de Marsan Flamenco Festival, Sevilla Flamenco Biennial, Adelaide Festival (Australia), Jerez Flamenco Festival, London Guitar Festival, Philharmonie of Paris, Septiembre es Flamenco of Seville.
